Doctors are an important part of society as they tend to our ailments and injuries. So it’s but obvious that a day is dedicated to these caring people of society.

National Doctors’ Day is celebrated on July 1 all across India in honor of the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962, at the age of 80. Dr. Roy was honored with the country’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, on February 4, 1961.

The celebration of the Doctors’ Day is an attempt to emphasize on the value of doctors in our lives and to offer them our respects.

Celebrating Doctor’s Day, we at BollywoodBee bring some of the most memorable doctors of B-Town:

Sanjay Dutt, Gracy Singh and Boman Irani in MunnaBhai M.B.B.S.

This drama flick saw a ‘gunda’ trying to become a doctor to avenge the humiliation his father received. It was fun to watch Sanjay Dutt play the lovable and absolutely hatke doctor-to-be and give them his ‘tapori’ medication.

Gracy as Doctor Suman and Boman Irani as Dr. Asthana were the actual delectation of the doctors we have in society who are sweet and still have a strict side to them.

Jackie Shroff – Kyuki

Jackie plays the role of a doctor at a mental asylum with upmost honesty who will go to any length for the betterment of his patients.

Sonali Bendre – Kal Ho Naa Ho
Sonali played a Doctor Priya, a friend and medical help to Aman – a patient suffering from a heart disease. Even though she had very little screen time in the film, we all remember her very well.

Kareena Kapoor Khan – 3 Idiots

Kareena played Pia Sahastrabuddhe, a doctor by profession who become good friends with three engineering students studying under her father. The beauty is how she stands out as a doctor while surrounded by engineers in the film.

Paresh Rawal – Welcome

This doctor had a problem which helped him find the perfect daughter-in-law for the family. Dr Ghungroo was shown as a realistic person who loved his family over everything else and hated gangsters. We all love him.
