Saif Ali Khan To Play An Indian Diplomat In A Film On Uzma Ahmed

Saif Ali Khan is currently busy with Jawaani Jaaneman and Netflix’s Sacred Games 2. The actor is in London spending time with wifey Kareena Kapoor Khan and kid Taimur Ali Khan. According to a report, the Nawab has signed a new film based on the real-life drama of Uzma Ahmed.

Uzma fell in love with Tahir Ali, a Pakistani taxi driver, during a trip to Malaysia. She later went to Buner, one of the remotest parts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Tahir lived. There she discovered that Tahir was already married and a father to four but was forced to marry him at gunpoint.

Filmmakers Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma and Girish Johar have acquired the rights make a film on the story of this Delhi girl.

According to a tabloid, Saif has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film. The actor will be seen essaying the role of JP Singh, India’s then Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad. Under the guidance of the then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Singh had got Uzma back to India.

For the role, Saif Ali Khan will undergo a complete change. The makers are on a hunt for a leading lady to play Uzma.

On the work front, Saif is presently in London shooting for his home production, Jawaani Jaaneman, directed by Nitin Kakkar. This film marks the acting debut of Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia F.
