Feature Name: Raid
Runtime: 128 min (2h 08m)
Director: Raj Kumar Gupta
Cast: Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, Ileana D’Cruz & others.

Raid is a movie set in 1981 in Lucknow where Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) an honest IT Officer who has been transferred 49 times in 7 years gets transferred and decides to stop the ongoing menace and tax theft in Lucknow. Exactly a month after his transfer Patnaik goes to raid Rameshwar Singh aka Tauji’s (Saurabh Shukla) house who his a powerful businessman and an MLA and thinks he can even get away with a murder with ease.

The movie is all about how does a raid take place in such a powerful person’s house based on just a telephonic tip and it turns out to be the longest raid in the history of India.

The movie has got all the elements in its right place Raj Kumar Gupta’s direction, Ritesh Shah’s dialogues, Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz’s chemistry, the clash of power and ethics between Saurabh Shukla and Ajay, the supporting cast, the background score.

But it misses out on creating the impact a certain Special 26 did, it lacks that punch even after a high point right at the interval and the final reveal is also predictable, which makes this movie an almost perfect.

We give it a 3.5 Buzzing Bees with a jar of honey for the debutante Pushpa Joshi.
