Judgementall Hai Kya revolves around the life of Bobby (Kangana Ranaut), a dubbing artist who is diagnosed with acute psychosis post going through a traumatic childhood. It follows her obsession with the character she voices and getting pictures clicked as the female lead. It also shows how her life takes a turn when Keshav and his wife Reema (Rajkummar Rao and Amyra Dastur) become her new tenants. What follows the murder is what will keep you glued to your seat.
Talking about performances, this can be called one of Kangana’s best performances to date. She not only convinces you she is unstable on the top floor but also makes you feel the pain and loneliness of her world. Rajkummar Rao is perfect and plays his roles with conviction.
Amyra Dastur, Hussain Dalal and Amrita Puri, even though have small roles have done a good job making them stay in mind even once the film is done. Hussain’s comedy is something to look forward to. Jimmy Sheirgill too is part of this film and he does an amazing job.
Prakash Kovelamudi’s direction is on point and captures us into his world. Pankaj Kumar’s cinematography makes you feel like you’re a part of the world where you never know what or who is crazy. Places both in India and abroad, are beautiful and go perfectly in hand with the narrative.
The background scores by Daniel B. George is sure to give you chills and spook the light out of you. Kanika Dhillon’s writing is on spot and doesn’t feel stretched. The dialogues though dark at times will still make you chuckle.
The only drawback of this film is that at the time you can predict what will happen next. But on the brighter side, it still surprises you.
We give Judgementall Hai Kya 3.5 stars for its gripping story and recommend all to give it a watch in theatres.
