Feature Name: Dobaara

Director: Bejoy Nambiar

Cast: Manav Kaul, Parvathy Omanakuttan

Run Time: Short Film

The story of the Dobaara revolves around a free-minded girl Parvathy (Parvathy Omanakuttan), who loves to live life on her terms. Under some circumstances, she willingly marries Mohan (Manav Kaul) who happens to love her. As the honeymoon period of their marriage passes, the love in their life is replaced by angst and the only thing that keeping them together is their son Agastya. Once he leaves, Parvathy has no reasons to stay in that relationship or in that house.

Bejoy Nambiar’s short film starts with a soulful poetry and the film ends in the same way. Bejoy Nambiar brings his whole skill-set to direct this short film. Bejoy’s non-linear narrative of a love story is Imtiaz Ali template but he manages to surpass all of it in the climax and give you a reason to watch it “Dobaara”.
Manav Kaul checkmates us with his performance just like he did it in Bejoy Nambiar’s Wazir. Parvathy Omanakuttan is exceptionally good.

It’s one short film you shouldn’t miss.
We give it 3.5 buzzing bees.
