Emraan Hashmi’s serial kisser image is no news to the whole of the B-town and media. This talented actor made his debut in Vikram Bhatt’s Footpath and from then, there is no turning back for him.

Soon the actor procured the image of serial kisser based on his characters in films such as Murder, Aksar, Ashiq Banaya Aapne, Zeher and so on. But as the time passed by, there have been some potential characters portrayed by this talented actor where he not only broke his serial-kisser image but also proved his talent and acting skills. On the occasion of actor’s 39th birthday, check out the list of his unusual characters here:

1. Abraham in The Dirty Picture

There is no doubt that Vidya Balan bagged all the credit in The Dirty Picture, for her tremendously amazing portrayal of south Indian actress Silk Smitha, but besides her, Emraan portrayed a hate-driven critic-author who then turned into her lover. Emraan garnered quite a praise for his unusual character.

2. Joginder Parmar in Shanghai

In this Dibakar Banerjee directorial, Emraan portrayed the character of Jogi who works in a video shop of questionable repute, ends up helping Shalini, a student who struggles to raise awareness about the underside of the local party’s platform at the cost of his life. Very different and amazing performance by our kisser boy. And of course, how can we forget his dance moves on “Bharat Mata Ki” song!

3. Bobo in Ek Thi Daayan

A magician who is, in fact, a Pishacha but with a good heart, ends up killing the Daayan. Emraan Hashmi being protagonist received positive responses for his performance. But pretty unusual character we must say!

4. Nikhil Abhyankar in Ungli

This Dharma productions’ vigilante crime drama film was lauded by critics, Emraan’s character of Nikhil, who helps the police to identify Ungli gang but ends up helping Ungli gang expose the corruption racket. Emraan surely managed to break his lover boy image through this.

5. Mohammad Azharuddin in Azhar

Come on, who would have thought Emraan Hashmi to star in a biopic of a cricketer? The film revolves around the life and famous match-fixing scandal of veteran Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. It was definitely the kisser-boy image-breaking character for Emraan.

Happy Birthday, Emraan!
