Daddy is surely Arjun Rampal’s career-defining role. His prosthetics and body language will surely give you a glimpse of Arun Gawli. Ashim Ahluwalia’s direction could have taken it a notch higher but there’s nothing extraordinary about it.

Arun Gulab Gawli, a son of a jobless mill-worker wishes to do something big out of his life; ends up as a gangster. Three friends come up with a gang BRA – Babu, Rama, and Arun; their desire to rule the area Dagdi, makes them a rival of the underworld Don, named Maqsood. Arun’s desperate desire to leave the gang and start a fresh makes him a puppet of the system, leaving Maqsood and the gang furious. After the death of his two gang members, Arun is left with no option but introduce his own gang. Later, to brush up his image, he joins politics and wishes to move ahead with his life. During the elections, police officers reopen the old cases and make him fall into the trap of law. Daddy is put behind the bars, again. Because of public support, he is further sentenced to life imprisonment, instead of death.
