Akshay Kumar has been one of the most outspoken actors we have today. From commenting on the Bangalore mass molestation to taking an initiative to openly discussing about how we, as a country, can help families of martyrs, he is unapologetic about his opinion!
However, he has always kept private about philanthropic work. So it came as a pleasant surprise when he spoke about his new initiative during Umang 2017.
The actor has recently opened a hospital in Naigaon, and it is dedicated to serving police officers and their families. Talking about the thought behind the hospital, he said –
“My father was battling cancer and I used to often visit the Tata Memorial Centre hospital for his treatment. I was saddened by the plight of the people who had come from all corners of the country to get their loved ones treated as they would just lie around wherever they got space.”
Akshay, we need more heroes like you in the world!
