And the biggest night of Hollywood arrived in style! The star-studded night took place at Los Angeles, Dolby Theatre yesterday. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Academy Awards was filled with Hollywood celebrities, political jabs, surprise food and lots of smiles. It was truly a night of celebrating the best of best.

La La Land received 14 nods for the Oscars and took away 6 winning trophies, matching the all-time record, set by ‘Titanic’ and ‘All About Eve.’ Damien Chazelle, 32, became the youngest director to ever win in the Best Director category. Emma Stone took home the Best Actress trophy and gave an adorable speech. Casey Affleck won the Best Actor award and rightly so. If you’ve seen Manchester By The Sea, it was just nice to see Casey smile to be honest. Mahershala Ali took home the Best Supporting Role award for Moonlight becoming the first Muslim actor to win the Academy award.

Highlight of the show? The Best Picture award. Pretty much everyone expected La La Land to win and it seems thats why the hosts, Beatty and Dunaway, announced the wrong best picture winner. Not kidding, total Steve Harvey moment. Nonetheless, Moonlight took home the prestigious award after all that drama on stage.
