Manish Mundra, the man behind projects like Masaan and Newton is all set to venture into a new domain. The producer will be donning the director’s hat for an untitled social drama feature film which is inspired by true events.
The founder-producer of Drishyam Films has been on a quest for the right story to turn director. He says,
“Deep down in my heart, there was always an instinct to make my own film. Because of other engagements and priorities in life, I started with producing films, which I will continue to do. But I believe now the time is right to take the next step in my creative journey.”
He also said,
“For some the time now I have been following the story of a brave heart Indian woman and her difficult journey through the toxic and corrupt confluence of politics, police and judiciary. It has made such an impact on me that I have decided to plunge into the world of filmmaking to bring this important story to the world.”
The details of the film are still unfolding. Manish will be co-directing the film with writer-director Supreet K Singh. The film will be shot extensively in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. It will go on floors in January 2020.
