Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt was born to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. The actress who was a chubby kid sheds the extra weight and became a fit young lady who debuted in Bollywood at the age of 21. In just a couple of years, the actress has proved herself to be more than just a beautiful face in a film. Her acting skills are praiseworthy and have resulted in her carrying films on her own.

She debuted as the glamourous Shanaya Singhania in Student Of The Year and was last seen portraying Safeena Firdausi in Gully Boy. The actress can portray any character and her 7-year career is proof.

Today on Alia Bhatt’s birthday, we at BollywoodBee would like to talk a little about her powerful performances that wowed us over. Take a look at them here:

Veera Tripathi in Highway

Alia Bhatt plays Veera Tripathi in this film. Being brought up in a well to do family, she gets kidnapped by Mahabir Bhati (Randeep Hooda) and this experience changes her completely. Her monologue at the end of the movie will make you teary-eyed for sure!

Bauria in Udta Punjab

Alia played Bauria a poor girl who moves to Punjab in search of work. A hockey player, she is forcefully made a drug when she gets rid of a delivery. She beautifully pulled off the de-glam role and made us feel her pain, aspiration and joy (in the end).

Kaira in Dear Zindagi

Kaira was totally relatable. Alia played a young woman trying to handle her personal and professional life while having trust, anger, & relationship issues. The movie traces her journey from depression to finding herself and getting rid of self-doubt & darkness with the help of a psychologist. She was indeed a delight to watch.

Sehmat Khan in Raazi

Alia put forth her brave, fearless yet vulnerable side as a spy in this film. She showed the world that she can nail different roles with perfection.

Safeena Firdausi in Gully Boy

Alia played a girl from the slums of Mumbai aspiring to become a Doctor. She stood by her aspiring rapper boyfriend (Ranveer Singh) through thick and thin. The ease with which she played the tapori Mumbaikar girl made it even more lovable and convincing.

On the work front, Alia is currently busy with the promotions of Kalank and the shooting of Brahmastra.
Happy Birthday, Alia Bhatt!
