Sujoy Ghosh’s second in the Kahaani series, Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh manages to enrapture you and stir feelings of suspense, dread, excitement, and sorrow beautifully along the course of the movie. Starring Vidya Balan as protagonist Vidya Sinha aka Durga Rani Singh, the movie’s strength is displayed by the de-glam Vidya as she fights to save her daughter from the demons of her past. As she attempts to outrun the evil, her identities unravel, opening up a world revealed by her diary.
Although many shocks are already a part of the trailer, the movie can be compared to a roller coaster; you know you’ll be shooting up and down, but it manages to steal your breath away all the same. Watch it for yet another stellar acting performance by Vidya Balan, the intricately suspenseful first-half, and Anam Sanyal’s grandmother act. If you are somebody who likes to be left gripping your seat wanting more, this is the movie for you.
