The Mission: Impossible franchise is back with another installment to the successful franchise and sure as hell looks like will keep the world on their toes, just like the previous films.

Despite having a new director on board for every film, the franchise has remained one of the most successful movie series of all time. This time, it’s different though. On Cruise’s request, Christopher McQuarrie who won an Oscar for the screenplay of The Usual Suspects became the first filmmaker ever to return to direct a second Mission: Impossible film. McQuarrie and Cruise have developed a personal and professional rapport over the course of their time spent together on three major films, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, The Mummy, and Jack Reacher.

McQuarrie comments,

“One of the signature elements of the franchise is that there has been a different director for every movie. When Tom asked me to come back and direct this one I said I would do it on the condition that I could maintain the spirit of that tradition by completely changing the visual language from the previous film. I want people who watch Rogue Nation and Fallout to feel like two different people directed them.”

Cruise who shares a deep admiration for McQuarrie’s work since their first collaboration for the 2012 action thriller, Jack Reacher says,

“I love working with McQ. He is enormously talented. He wanted to change the visual style so it would be as though someone else had directed it, and he succeeded. But it still has his bold storytelling sensibility. I love the toughness of the movie and the characters. We pulled out all the stops. I can’t wait for audiences to see it.”

‘MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT’ – A Paramount Pictures movie, exclusively distributed in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures releases in India on July 27, 2018.
