Directed by Sajid Ali, Laila Majnu is a tale of love set in Kashmir. With all its beauty of scenic visuals, charm and love, this one really doesn’t make you feel mushy or leave you with wet eyes.
Debutant Avinash Tiwary (Kaes/Majnu) has done a splendid job in wooing us with his acting and Tripti Dimri (Laila) with her high on emotions expressions. Both look well together but it’s the narration of the story that doesn’t feel right.

The old story of how the families are “always” against love and somehow enemies, makes it damp and boring. There’s nothing new in this flick, but the songs do make you feel light and happy. Parmeet Sethi’s ever changing mood in the movie makes it difficult to figure his character out or what morals he really stands on.
Overall, this tale has nothing new to offer except the Avinash’s charm.
We give it 1 buzzing bee with no honey on top!
