Set in Los Angeles, it brings together the tremendous talent of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Let’s take a moment and just soak in this pleasant information. It follows the story of a struggling jazz pianist Sebastian and an aspiring actress Mia. They meet, they fall in love, they sing, they dance and they create MAGIC. It’s not your conventional love story because everything is not always right but it’s how they keep swimming through it all that makes it a story worth watching. The movie is a magnificent reminder of always chasing your dreams because that’s what these characters do. In a city full of dreamers, the story follows their lives as they work hard to make it big. One of them achieves more success than the other, and you feel like the rhythm of the movie is dropping a little. But, it lingers at these moments because they are so important later and that little bit of dullness pays off very well.
Emma Stone dons the hat of a grounded yet spunky actress with grace and poise, and you are instantly rooting for her. Ryan Gosling is beautifully relatable and his performance takes the movie to another level! It’s rare that you can’t put together words to describe a performance.
