Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood has done a lot for art and literature. On Shah Rukh’s contribution towards the promotion of “Urdu Culture,” he recently received an honorary doctorate from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. The Chancellor, Zafar Sareshwala conferred the ‘honours causa’ (doctor of letters) on Khan and Sanjiv Saraf, founder of Rekhta Foundation at the sixth convocation of the university.
By receiving an honorary doctorate, Shah Rukh Khan has now made a hattrick of his achievements. While expressing his feelings, he said that this honour would make his father proud as he was a freedom fighter. He also said, “My mother would have been very happy as I am getting this honour in Hyderabad, her birthplace.”
Kudos to the King of Bollywood! We wish him more success in the coming years.
