Starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon’s, The Spy Who Dumped Me is an action-thriller. The film takes you on a thrilling adventure with the two female leads who have no clue how to escape their fate.

One of the trademarks of many action-comedies is the half-hearted stunt sequence used to create a comical effect in the film. That’s not the case with The Spy Who Dumped Me. Director Sussanna Fogel was determined to avoid that cliché.

Quoting her:
“It’s important for me that the action be just as fearless as the action in a male-driven movie, and that we don’t hold back, we don’t try to like soften it.”

With this in mind, the cast and crew of The Spy Who Dumped Me hired legendary stunt coordinator and second-unit director Gary Powell, whose extensive resumé includes both the Bond and Bourne franchises.

Justin Theroux who plays Mila’s ex-boyfriend in the film said:
“When you’re watching a comedy you maybe think, ‘oh it’s going to be a little bit softer, a little bit lighter,’ but Gary is actually very hard-charging. That is his style. There are a couple of shots, the car chase with the motorcycle that takes one of the hardest hits I’ve ever seen on film!”

Powell personalized the action scenes to reflect Audrey and Morgan’s growing nature and his efforts are not in vain. Whether it was a café shootout, a gymnasium torture scene, or a high-octane trapeze act, the cast embraced Gary’s passion for creating mayhem happily.

Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon have learned a lot from ‘The Stunt Man’, Gary and they are all set to thrill us with their exciting action adventure.

The Spy Who Dumped Me starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon directed by Susanna Fogel and is slated to release on 10th August 2018.
