Tabrez Noorani’s Love Sonia Creates A Stir With #AgainstAllOdds

Tabrez Noorani’s upcoming film Love Sonia, after winning accolades across International Film Festivals, is now creating waves on digital platforms as well! The star-cast of the film which also includes names like Richa Chadha, Mrunal Thakur, Riya Sisodiya and Sai Tamhankar took to Instagram to kick-start an intriguing social media campaign using the hashtag #AgainstAllOdds. These gorgeous actresses posted pictures of them from when they were 17-year-old, with a motivating message and in no time the idea created a stir all over!

At 17 i was growing up to go #againstallodds in my own way…i just started discovering my self, i realised that being "different" will make you stand out, wether it's clothing, attitude, or just who you are… I loved being radical, i loved the attention, i loved it when people said "he's crazy" it gave me an adrenaline rush….and the only way to nurture this craziness this rush was being an artist, coz artists are eccentric, moody, and are given complete freedom to express who they are…… I asked myself then, who gets to be crazy at 17 and live it thru ? 😈 I'm 17 no more, but I'm crazier, whackier and still as radical as i can be.. This is me at 17 I had just started working with Balaji #Home as an intern . I was not able to go to college and my parents and family had decided I was a failure. The only thing I could get a job was in a call centre . Maybe they were right . A boy with no financial or most importantly emotional support who hasn’t even completed a year of college education . I was not even able to secure an interview at a channel for an entry level position cause I wasn’t educated enough . I really was lost but than I came to my Hogwarts #Againstallodds and met Her . Post which a college degree dint matter , I actually headed the same channel in years to come , Niv and Her helped me find myself. I actually don’t know what I wanted to do in my life , may be now also I keep looking but I am blessed that I do what I enjoy doing and keep evolving . This is my 17 year old story My school life had a lot of ups and downs , from a child who was bullied for being fat to a fit athlete was a tough journey While growing up i had no idea what I’ll do in life My teachers were done with me, i always asked myself what will i ever do in life I just knew i was really hardworking and that’s about it. This is me at 17, in class XII. As you can see, I was quite dramatic. I wanted to be an actor since I was 4. I thought I was talented, beautiful and I had a chance. I did theatre, learnt Kathak and Street Jazz, tried my hand at modelling, all because of my one magnificent obsession. I wasn't jaded. I knew the film industry isn't a level playing field and the kith and kin of filmy families would get first chance, but that didn't stop me. . . . . . I am an aberration still. I haven't done a single movie one would term typical. I havent played a conventional heroine. I played a behen in my first film, a Buddhi or mother to someone two decades older in my next, a Bhabhi and even a Bholi! Love Sonia is a story of a village girl whose life irrevocably changes when she is exposed to the global sex trade market in order to save her sister. The film has a strong ensemble cast including Freida Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Richa Chadha, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Sai Tamhankar, Sunny Parwar, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass, Noorani is introducing Mrunal Thakur as well as Riya Sisodiya.

Tamasha Talkies and Samraaj Talkies in association with India Take One Productions, Cinemantra Entertainment and Media & Dynasty Consulting Group present Love Sonia. The film is Tabrez Noorani’s directorial debut, produced by the Academy Award-nominated producer of Life of Pi, David Womark and Tabrez Noorani. Co-produced by Amar Butala and Executive Producers include Shalini Thackeray, Deepak Nayar, and Pravesh Sahni. The Dynasty Consulting Group was instrumental in setting up the movie. Zee Studios will release the film in India. Love Sonia releases on 14th September 2018.
