Coco added to its early awards season cart, taking the statuette for the Best Animated Motion Picture at the Golden Globes. The Pixar film emerged victorious over a wide variety of animated films, including Loving Vincent, The Boss Baby, Ferdinand, and The Breadwinner.

This marks the 10th win for Walt Disney Company in the category. This is an impressive feat as the Golden Globes have only presented an animation award for 12 years.

The only two non-Disney animation winners in the history of the Golden Globes have been Tintin and How to Train Your Dragon 2.

Coco was also nominated in the Globes’ song category for the song ‘Remember Me.’
