Over the last two years, conversation about Dangal has also piqued our interest. Whether it is the mind-blowing transformation of Aamir Khan’s body or the fact that the story was set in the same environment as Sultan, the Dangal trailer has been one of the most anticipated trailer of 2016
The trailer follows the true story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat. Geeta Phogat won India’s first ever gold medal in women’s wrestling in the 55 kg freestyle category at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and the first-ever Indian woman wrestler to have qualified for the Olympics, and Babita Kumari won a bronze medal at the 2012 World Wrestling Championships and won the gold medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games
Aamir Khan portrays the struggle of a man wanted to created history in relatable way and is the shoulder that trailer rides on successfully. His transformation is seriously inspiring!
Sakshi Tanwar has few dialogues but is an impactful part of the trailer!
Fatima Sana Shaikh & Zaira portray the character of his fearless daughters, Geeta & Babita quite well making it an absolutely power packed debut.
Special mention to the little girls, they pack quite the punch!
Although certain parts of the trailer do seem a tad familiar courtesy of the super hit, Sultan. The Dangal trailer does bring another level of drama to the ring! Only time will tell if it can knock out the blockbuster or not.
