Soon after, moving forward in the session, Bhushan’s success story received a thunderous applause from the audience seated at the conference where he spoke about – ‘The Making of World’s Biggest YouTube Music Channel’.

All About Music, in its second edition, is an inclusive platform for addressing challenges and growth opportunities charted in the music industry through national and global speakers.

Having lead T-Series at the young age of 19 after his father, Gulshan Kumar’s untimely death, Bhushan Kumar has surely come a long way in making T-Series the second most subscribed YouTube channel and bringing the company to the position it stands today. What makes Bhushan Kumar and T-Series stand out amongst the rest is the super hit music and the films they produce every year.

On being asked about his good knowledge in music, Bhushan Kumar said,

“I’ve inherited the quality of understanding good music from my father.”

When Bhushan Kumar took over T-Series, he first bought the music of Aflatoon, followed by Dulhe Raja whose song track, Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare is still a favorite Bollywood dance number for many, along with O O Jaane Jaana and Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. The music from Bhushan’s first negotiation deal with late producer Jhamu Sugandh for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam created an overwhelming impression amongst the listeners then and even at the event, this disclosure got a big applause from the crowd.

Bhushan Kumar’s first effort at independently creating music was with Sonu Nigam’s album Deewana which became an instant super hit. Having seen T-Series transforming from the era of cassettes to the digital space, Bhushan said,

“When the digital revolution was approaching, we were scared. It was so new to all of us but when we took it over, it was so convenient because we took it head on. YouTube became a sensation and we saw some new artists and some new faces coming up.”

T-Series has always encouraged new talent and has also launched many newcomers under its umbrella. After Bhushan Kumar’s film, Aashiqui 2 became a blockbuster, T-Series sunk their teeth and went into film production in a big way. Today, T-Series makes around 10-12 films each year out.

With a line-up of A-list films and topnotch music videos, T-Series has certainly set the bar high for itself in the coming years.
